After the kerfuffle of last night's 'can't-believe-it's-vegan burgers', I made an impromptu visit to the butcher today. I resolved to make more burgers, using a small number of ingredients that included minced beef, finely chopped and fried onions, one egg and a good amount of salt and pepper.
When I responded to the ubiquitous question "what's for dinner?" with "beef burgers", my son's hurried reply was "what? nice ones from the shop, this time?". All I could muster in response was "No, nice ones that I am just about to make!" I guess yesterday's effort left an impression.
Simple became this evening's theme and I served our burgers in gluten free buns with a straightforward mixed salad.
