While I've yet to be persuaded by Paul Saladino, MD's belief that the secret to optimum health is the carnivore diet (yet, this is a thing!), and we are on a mission to increase the amount of plant-based dishes we eat, this family is resolutely fond of steak.

When there isn't homemade soup on the menu for Saturday lunch you'll occasionally find us stuffing pieces of medium cooked sirloin steak into chunks of sourdough bread, baby leaf salad and mayo dripping from the sides.

This evening, steak made it to the dinner table served with a range of roasted vegetables including sweet potato, asparagus and bell peppers.
